As a Shift Manager, this is an opportunity to satisfy our customers by delivering best in class factory performance for Mars Food Australia.

Lead and develop a production shift team, in the manufacture of products, and optimize the service levels and cost efficiencies to achieve outstanding results.

Reporting to the Senior Shift Manager, a Shift Manager will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team to deliver operational, safety and people performance results by:

  • Fostering a culture which people safety, food safety, Quality & Efficiency are paramount
  • Managing resources and partnering with stakeholders to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
  • Drive team engagement, capability and business focus
  • Optimize production performance and processes in accordance with the production plan
  • Lead team problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Manage direct and indirect labour
  • Generate a safe workplace for Associates and contractors via the application of Mars’ Safety Standards, tools and techniques. Lead safety continuous improvement activities, safety drills, and mitigate identified safety risks. 
  • Effectively and efficiently communicate, facilitate, coordinate and prioritise all activities and production within their shift

Qualifications and experience:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Stakeholder management and collaboration
  • Detailed knowledge and use of planning systems
  • Experience with Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Operating Procedures, HACCP principles
  • A proven track record in leading an engaged team and achieving results through coaching and mentoring
