Salary:  £35,700 to £44,500 plus excellent benefits

BACKGROUND

The Corporate Quality Function collectively drives the implementation for the Mars LEADING QUALITY Strategy across the Value Chain (Design, Buy, Provision of Products & Services, Sell, Listen) for all Segments. It is governed by the Corporate Quality Management Process (QMP) and covers all the activities related to the Product Lifecycle Model through Q&FS management, Audit, Technical Expertise, IT Systems, Corporate reputation and embedding a Quality culture. Targeted, relevant and timely communication is critical to deploying the strategy and internal engagement on Quality related topics.

 

This role reports to the Corporate Quality Program Manager

 

THE JOB

This role has been created to connect and stream line the communications internally from all the LEADING QUALITY Strategy Areas for efficiency and effectiveness and to deliver projects which enable the creation of a quality culture.

The purpose of the role is to enable a strong and visible Culture of Quality across Mars by delivering global cross segment Quality communications & Quality Culture projects in line with the Quality internal communication plan.

It may require some limited domestic and international travel (up to 10%).

 

KEY OUTPUTS

The key outputs of this role are as follows:- 

  • Responsible for the co-creation, management and delivery of the Quality internal communications plan in support of the Corporate QMP
  • Manages the process of delivering the required  Communications (Board, Mars Leadership Team, Technology Committee pre-reads and presentations, Technology Quarterly Reports)
  • Leads projects designed to build a Culture of Quality across all Mars Units as identified by the Driving ownership of Quality Steering team. Ensures they follow the Corporate Quality Team project management process. Projects include
    • Quality Weeks
    • GM Engagement
  • Leads a Community of Practise on Quality Culture, Is the key point of contact for the Global Quality Community on all Quality Culture initiatives, provides support, coaching and identifies processes for capturing and sharing best practise
  • Acts as the Quality Culture champion for Mars University training courses and programmes
  • Provides expert technical guidance and support to Corporate Quality Team members, QLT and other senior segment Q&FS or R&D leaders for the creation of all Cross Segment key internal and external communications. The job holder is responsible for ensuring the messaging and branding is aligned with Corporate and Q&FS requirements and those of the target audience

 

 

  • Manages the metrics collation and reporting for the  Q&FS communication plan and also Driving ownership of Quality strategy areas
  • Managing the communications budget and any 3rd party providers

 

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • A Degree in Communications is preferred, with a minimum of technical quality experience and good scientific/technical communications expertise/capability
  • Experience in communications with a focus on Engagement
  • A high level of project management expertise and experience
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).  Fluent in English
  • Ability to produce accurate and consistent materials with good attention to detail
  • Excellent networker, easily builds rapport remotely, and experienced in delivering projects through others
  • Knowledge of newer information technologies / multimedia is required.
  • Creative, flexible and enjoy working in a complex, rapidly changing environment
