Salary - £54,214.40 - £81,321.60 + Bonus + Car Allowance + Benefits

MGS (Mars Global Services) is in a unique position to drive centralized and standardized solutions across the entire Mars portfolio to unlock incremental value. An inherent challenge is being able to bring together the different operating models and processes throughout the business. In addition, MGS is a newer organization with less established processes, which adds further complexity and requires creative and agile capabilities. As the financial business partner to the MGS Commercial Team, this role requires a high degree of collaboration, flexibility, and innovation.  Reporting directly to the MGS Commercial S&F Lead, the MGS Commercial S&F Manager is responsible for financial business partnership to the MGS Commercial – Indirect Europe CIS Team.


In this role you will:

Provide Strategic Insights and Guidance to the MGS Commercial Regional Management Team

  • Influence and partner with the Regional Commercial Head (RCH), Regional Business Transformation Lead (BT), and full Regional Management Team (MT) to deliver on commitments
  • Lead and drive Regional change initiatives to create and sustain world-class procurement operations and improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Apply business evaluation and strategy tools to diagnose business situations, identify risks and opportunities, and formulate/recommend strategic options to the Regional MT
  • Establish strategies and execution/methodologies for the Regional team and align improvement strategies to MGS Commercial Global
    Lead and Deploy Standardized Financial Processes to the MGS Commercial Region
  • Lead financial planning, reporting, and forecasting for this Region’s operating costs that are aligned to its strategy and drive achievement of its Annual Sourcing Plan (ASP)
  • Understand and pressure test key assumptions in ASP and Investment Operating Plan
  • Leverage centralized MGS S&F and Finance teams to report accurate financial results for operating costs
  • Apply analytical techniques on savings and operating costs to derive financial insights and recommend timely business decisions and investments that drive optimal financial value for total Mars Inc.


Engage with Regional Stakeholders to Build MGS Commercial Brand Equity

  • Work with Regional MT to prepare the ASP Alignment and Value Creation communication decks for the Senior Regional Stakeholders – ensure accuracy and credibility of reported financials
  • Articulate/explain financial methodologies and performance to Regional Stakeholders, including Regional Segment Presidents, CFO’s, and Commercial Leaders
  • Share best practices and influence standardization of MGS Commercial S&F processes across Mars Stakeholders
    Provide Governance Oversight and Escalation of Issues when appropriate
  • Assess and prioritize financial risks to ensure protection of critical company assets
  • Analyze and self-audit reported savings to ensure compliance to financial methodologies and credibility with Stakeholders
  • Partner with Transformation Managers and 3rd party auditor to ensure observations are communicated and savings adjustments are completed in a timely manner in the reporting tool
  • Review Internal Audit findings, check-in on remediation and ICE rollout progress, provide consultation as needed; escalate issues when appropriate to prevent high dollar financial losses


Due to the global nature of the role, it will require flexibility to participate in meetings that might occur outside of normal business hours due to multiple time zones in local time zone.  International travel (up to 10%) is expected.  


To do this role you’ll need:

  • Relevant Finance/Accounting degree, MBA is a plus
  • 7-9 years of relevant financial, audit, and/or operational experience preferably working with senior leadership teams
  • Experience working in a global function/organization (working across different time-zones/regions/businesses)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills/Effective interpersonal skills and strong team player
  • Advanced command of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills, SAP experience is a plus
