Commercial Operations Specialist – External Factory

Salary - £35,000 - £44,000 + Bonus + Benefits

The purpose of the role is to ensure a supplier base we can trust, by resolving issues in daily operations, driving supplier performance management, identifying and leading value leadership initiatives and delivering (growth) projects.


In this role you will:

  • Manage day-to-day (commercial) operations for your suppliers in Europe and resolve potential issues, impacting Co-processor PSL (Pipeline Service Level) and ultimately CSL (Customer Service Level).
  • Implement Supplier Performance Management and Operational Excellence at your suppliers, driving continuous improvement in terms of supply (output), quality, service and efficiency
  • Responsible for implementation of new activities and successful first production of new packaging formats and recipes at your suppliers
  • Lead cross functional implementation teams (with Network Planners, Quality & Food Safety representatives, Supply and Supplier) to monitor progress on projects, identify risks and opportunities and initiate escalations to ensure successful and timely delivery
  • Identify and lead Value Leadership initiatives, including the reduction of excess and fees on top of agreed prices. Support regional tenders in cooperation with Strategic Sourcing
  • Internal Stakeholder Management (Activity Management, Supply, R&D, Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance)
  • Interact with Commercial Shared Service center in Poland to efficiently run the end-to-end procurement process and optimise ways of working


To do this role you’ll need:

  • Master degree or equivalent
  • 5-7 years’ relevant experience within Commercial, Supply Chain, Business control or Project Management type of roles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to deal with tension and conflict
  • You pursue everything with energy, drive, and a need to finish
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to organise workload, prioritise what is most important and balance between short term issue management and achievement of longer term objectives
  • Problem solving skills, ability to analyse data and assess information quickly
  • Knowledge of and experience in core P2P functional competencies and in Procurement best practices
  • You are willing to travel approx. 20% of your time to visit the suppliers and attend team meetings
