Key Responsibilities

 

BUSINESS PROCESS, SERVICES & PERFORMANCE
• Accountable for ensuring performance of the Regional Laboratory Network (Internal and External Labs) against agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) including quality of results, on time delivery, financial results, technical consultancy, and laboratory capability development.
• Provide visible safety leadership and establish a strong safety culture across the MGS Laboratory locations within the region and all functions (testing operations, office or travel based roles).
• Define the regional strategic roadmap for the internal and external laboratory network, considering current and future testing portfolios based on segment needs, to deliver the best balance between capability, quality and cost.
• Accountable to ensure the maintenance of suitable export routes for samples for testing that cannot be sourced within the local country/region in line with regulatory requirements.
• Accountable for the effective delivery of the Laboratory Incident Support Process within the region, with regard to timeliness and quality of the execution, including technical consultancy and delivery of test results.
• Accountable for the deployment and compliance of the regional Laboratory network (MGS Regional Labs, Site Labs and External partners) to the applicable External (ISO17025) and internal laboratory quality standards, technical control programs (QC/PT) and prescriptive quality policies.
• Accountable to develop and maintain a robust business continuity strategy and lead business response to ensure continuity of testing services in the event of service disruption at a laboratory or across a laboratory group within the region
• Develop strong regional strategic supplier relationships for laboratory services (testing laboratories, consumables, etc.) in partnership with MGS Commercial and drive capability initiatives to improve quality and service delivery.

• Identify and drive service and cost efficiency opportunities across the region.
• Engagement, negotiation and influencing of MGS Labs stakeholders to establish priorities in line with the highest business impact. Manages trade-offs and escalations across the portfolio of regional deployments.
• Be an active member of the MGS Laboratories Leadership Team, identifying and leading strategic and operational opportunities for service or capability improvement.
 

Business Partnership
• Gain and retain trusted leadership status with Regional Segment Technology Leadership Teams and Quality Directors in all segments to understand customer needs and negotiate priorities for deployment across the laboratory network.
• In partnership with the Segments and MGS Labs COE, identify and execute strategic capability development opportunities for both the internal and external laboratory network.
• Accountable for the execution of key quality, service and financial performance reviews with the Regional/BU Segment teams, highlighting risks and opportunities, and ensure service improvement actions are agreed, tracked and executed.
 

People, Organization & Resources
• Engages, leads and develops a high performing regional organization of circa 25 Associates, promoting a strong customer centric culture
• Responsible for ensuring the right organizational design, resourcing for critical processes, and talent pipeline for mission critical roles, blending business and technical competencies to deliver the agreed regional services.
• Derive and ensure the delivery of the annual financial plan (OPEX) for MGS Laboratories APAC region
• Define the annual CAPEX needs and ensure spend is planned and committed across the region to ensure safe and capable working facilities, including major facility builds when necessary

 

Job Specifications/Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Scientific or Business related subject

 

Knowledge/Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years leadership experience at a regional or global level

- Proven track record of the delivery of complex technical programs across customer focused operational services

- Outstanding stakeholder influencing and communication skills

- Fluent in writing and speaking English

- Demonstrable record of driving technical change programs with external suppliers

- Proficiency in Chinese

- Lead auditor trained (ISO17025, ISO 9001, ISO22000) with experience in laboratory audits
