Line Electrician Technician - Nights

Salary - £23,320.80 - 34,981.20 (dependent on experience) plus exceptional benefits

Location - Plymouth

The Role

 

Your purpose is to continuously improve plant equipment to world class level of reliability, availability, quality and safety whilst providing excellent customer service. As a night shift electrical technician you will ensure the correct levels of support are available to wrapping area – ensuring that departmental KPIs and wrapping output levels are maintained. You will provide technical support and deliver training to wrapping teams as required.

 

What you will do:

 

-             Provide first line electrical and controls breakdown support throughout all wrapping areas

-             Capture all work attended on SAP PM and undertake unplanned electrical PM’s

-             Support training  and qualification of wrapping shifts teams to aquire all skills necessary to operate, maintain, changeover and troubleshoot wrapping equipment autonomously in a safe and quality manner

-             Role-model the Mars 5 Principles and use as a day to day guide in decision making

-             Utilise all available resources to achieve your team goal

-             Attend and pass on relevant information on shift handover

-             To be in constant communication with shift-based wrapping and reliability teams to understand and collate information on any breakdown or reliability issue

-             To creatively identify and make continuous improvement as appropriate

-             Provide technical advice, problem solving assistance and to support operational areas by assisting the definition of equipment performance requirements and repair specifications

-             To support continuous improvements in your area of responsibility by effective use of root cause analysis

 

What you will need:

 

Education

  • Professional electrical qualifications (industrial installations). Some mechanical experience preferred

Knowledge & Experience

  • Technical skills in electrical mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
  • Sound understanding of electrical systems including PLC and Scada, with a view to undertake multiskilled role
  • Practical knowledge of maintenance systems
  • Computer skills necessary to update and maintain technical systems and standards
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing standards
  • Qualified to user level in lean methods
