Shift Manager - PM





The Role


Here at Mars Wrigley (MW), we are looking for an experienced Shift Manager to join the MW Supply Team based in Asquith. Home to many well-known brands such as Snickers, Mars, M&M’s & Eclipse, we are proud to make some of Australia’s most loved confectionery brands.


Reporting to the site Value Stream Manager, you will be fully responsible across two departments for leading, inspiring, and developing a large, high-performing team to deliver operational, safety and people performance targets.


We are looking for our next Shift Manager to build on our culture in which quality, food safety and human safety are paramount. Success with the above is executed by leading resources and partnering with stakeholders across the business to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities. This will in turn drive efficiency and value across the Mars supply chain.


This Night Shift role will see you working a 9-hour shift between the hours of 3pm to 1.30am; Monday to Friday, on a 9 day a fortnight (with every second Friday off). As with any critical role of this nature, there may need to be flexibility at times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and engaging your team will be a key priority, and you will build capability and drive engagement through a focus on creating collaborative relationships
  • Ensure OH&S, Food Safety, Environmental Awareness, Production Demands, Associate Engagement & Continuous Improvement KPI’s requirements are met
  • Ensure Department Safety procedures/requirements are met. These include Start up Checks, LOTO, Accident investigations and Department Safety Toolbox attendance
  • Ensure Department maintains GMP’s, Hygiene Standards and that Quality procedures/requirements are met. These may include, Cleaning Schedules, Flavour Change Checks, Consumer Complaint investigations etc.
  • Performance and development management


What will you bring to the role? 

  • Demonstrated skills in driving a team to achieve business objectives and implement corrective actions
  • Proven experience in people leadership including coaching and developing others
  • Confidence in a standalone role is paramount
  • Environment, Health and Safety focus and ensuring all direct Associates are complying with company policies
  • A keen eye for quality and food safety compliance, delivering on the company quality and food safety standards
