Job Purpose:

  • Work closely and in partnership with Senior Sourcing Manager and Sourcing/Buying Managers to drive development and implementation of sub-category Buying strategies and co-pilot global IT programs.
  • Manages global or regional initiatives by leveraging supplier relationships and strategic partnerships to drive standardization and automation across regions and segments.
  • Works collaboratively with a large number of cross functional partners to identify savings and cost avoidance opportunities and develop and implement regional/sub-category sourcing strategies.
  • Will own sub-categories of spend on a global basis, manage SPRM for key partners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Partners closely with Sourcing/Buying Managers to provide input to the Category Strategy and to align on strategic buying initiatives.
  • Where no global strategy exists, create tactical subcategory plan and manage this.
  • Recommends and implements supply base strategy. Assesses and develops suppliers in order to meet business needs and opportunities. Identifies sources of supply where appropriate to support execution of agreed strategies and tactical subcategory plans.
  • Manages benchmarking, RFP activity and drives the qualification and implementation of new suppliers.
  • Manages supplier governance, including supplier performance and ensure the SPRM program implementation. Acts as key and first point of contact for supplier relationships.
  • Analyses supplier service levels and KPI to drive the right behaviours with suppliers.
  • Develops continuous improvement action plan and executes. Monitors changes and adjusts plan as needed to sustain performance results.
  • Identifies and manages supplier collaboration initiatives (e.g. forecast management, electronic invoicing, operational process streamlining, etc.)
  • Secures price, capacity & service levels in line with commitments to the business.
  • Ensures effective risk management of the supply base, through robust contracts and monitoring of financial and other KPIs. Implements corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Establishes & maintains relationships with key stakeholders and their teams to ensure understanding of their needs and to facilitate the appropriate level of challenge.
  • Complies with policies, systems & controls.
  • Communicates business risk & opportunity.
  • Provides market and financial insights relevant to the subcategory and inputs to the internal financial planning and review processes.
  • Implement best practice for areas of responsibility. Participates in team knowledge transfer.
  • Participates in external forums and associations.



Education & Professional Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience, and 5 years Procurement experience.
  • Working in a cross-functional business environment/team
  • Working internationally
  • Project & activity management
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships (e.g. difficult situations, large groups)
