Purpose of Role:

Mars has undertaken a digital transformation to empower Associates to create value faster and with more agility.

 

The role of Digital Transformation Manager is to accelerate the impact of our enterprise-wide digital transformation through crafting senior and associate communications, and tracking/monitoring Mars progress in applying digital capabilities towards more portions of Mars business.

 

This individual will be technologically savvy, strategically a breakthrough thinker and able to roll up their sleeves as a communicator and influencer. They will be at the forefront of trends and emerging technology, consistently sharing back ideas and findings with internal teams and partners. This disruptive, strategic thinker and operator will help drive Mars digital growth we are proud of. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

The Digital Transformation Manager will help ensure impact from Mars digital acceleration (DA) investment by tracking DA portfolio spend and outcomes, in partnership with S&F

 

They will help embed Mars digital capabilities by a) proposing and measuring leading and lagging indicators of digital adoption (partnering with user centricity, automation, analytics teams), b) capturing a living set of case studies showcasing impact and learnings

 

This individual contributor will help cultivate sponsorship and solicit guidance from our most senior stakeholders by a) creating transformation pre-reads and decks for audiences including MLT, HUB, BoD and segment executives, b) tracking and organizing for senior interactions. Specifically:

 

  • Create content for executive level internal and external presentations, as well as assets in support of the DA communications plan. This includes producing infographics, videos, gifs, experiences, motion graphics, and more as needed.

 

  • As part of Mars effort to upskill every Associate to be digital, this role will create and present communications materials that paint a cohesive picture of digital acceleration and transformation. These will be consistent with Mars branding (format consistency, tone of voice, logos, visuals etc.) 

 

As an expert individual contributor, the incumbent is expected to be a hands-on, disruptive thinker who will be accountable for developing a deep understanding of our business to identify opportunities to make a difference through the power of digital transformation internally and with external inspiration. 

 

Serve as an advocate for digital transformation across Mars interactions. The role will interact with all Mars business segments, including the most senior executive levels.

 

Collaborate and liaise with DA Director, Program Leads, S&F, Chief of Staff, CA and other functions to ensure a robust view of DA initiatives and to collect relevant learnings and success stories to share sponsors. 

 

Stay up to date with the leading edge of digital technology, transformation, and change management trends. 

 

Context & Scope:

The incumbent will have responsibility for helping our transformation accelerate, by tracking and monitoring Initiative Impact, capturing a database of case studies and being able to turn these into effective communications

As a visible agent of transformation, you will be at the heart of a business mindset and behavior change – your communications materials need to be able to inspire senior leaders and all Associates to understand and embrace this change.

The incumbent will have a strong appreciation for the power of the right metrics; they will propose and track measures that ensure we have leading and lagging indicators of digital acceleration

To be effective, you will need a true passion for digital transformation, seeking internal and external provocation, and being able to synthesize these into cohesive points of view

 

What are we looking for?

•            Bachelor's degree

•            Minimum 3-5+ years’ experience influencing transformations, ideally leveraging digital technology

 

•            Track record of designing, developing high impact engaging content, using a variety of innovative approaches

•            Ability to identify and track relevant KPIs

•            Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high pressure environment

•            Strong stakeholder management and comfort around higher management

•            Strong and proven project management skills

•            Experience working with cross-functional, matrixed teams, internal and external resources

•            Experience managing in a global environment

•            Work well independently and in teams

•            Creatively minded with an ability to bring concepts to life

•            Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
