The Role


Here at Royal Canin we have a very rare opportunity for a Category Analyst to join the Sales team. In this role you will be responsible for delivering fact-based analysis, insight and recommendations on the category to both our customers and internal stakeholders. You will drive category leadership in collaboration with our customers by using market, shopper and customer insights, then assess and identify category growth opportunities for relevant customers, developing and executing the relevant category solutions to fuel category growth and the customer engagement process.


This role will see you working alongside the sales and Key Account teams, attending key customer category meetings hence your ability to build relationships cross functionally and with customers will be key to your success.


What are we looking for?

  • Experience working in FMCG coupled with prior category leadership experience;
  • Experience through sales or marketing and/or retail;
  • Proven track record of achieving results through Insight to Action, working collaboratively with customers to achieve category growth’;
  • Prior knowledge and experience working with scan/panel data tools (Aztec, Nielsen, Quantium etc.) preferably, space planning tools;
  • Strong excel experience - Intermediate to advanced - essential..



What would be your key responsibilities?

  • Select, analyse and integrate shopper, customer and category information that delivers business solutions;
  • Lead conversations with customers around Category Management processes and theories to deliver value-added category and shopper solutions;
  • Lead and develop category leadership initiatives and action plans that deliver objectives aligned to the customer;
  • Utilise customer and market research and insights in locally and globally, building compelling category stories for the team to accelerate growth;
  • Key user for our internal system including; issue resolution, support, training of new associate; managing process change; testing and updating information as changes occur.
