Position Title: Fin. Master Data Central Finance Analyst (Remote – USA)

Through this role, associate will build experience on the newest technology, as one of the first users of new processes in Mars and in the industry.


Purpose of Role:


The CFin Finance Data Steward is a project position with an December 2022 (18 months) and requires associates stepping into the assignment to hold responsibility for finding their own next best move within the organization upon completion of the project.


This project position will play a crucial role in helping ensure high quality finance master data across the mapped source and target systems for the primary finance data elements (GL, PC, CC and related objects ) that are being created as part of the Central Finance deployment, while leveraging the tools, frameworks and data flows already defined.


The CFin Finance Data Steward will closely collaborate with Data Champions and stakeholders in Finance and Digital Technologies, to prepare master data and validations in a timely and efficient manner for 300+ units globally. The role is responsible for ensuring all data that is created follows the data model and documented standards, for it to be consumed at the time and quality that users are expecting. This requires strong communication and agile response to all project activities.


The role has a duration of 18 months at which time the program will move from transformation phase to a sustain one.


Principal Accountabilities


Deliver expectations described above in two key phases:


Data Preparation phases:  

Collaborate with members of the Finance Data community to complete preparations for CFin Finance Master Data

  • Represent Finance Data Council (FDC) during all testing cycles to plan, prepare and execute against the overall CFin Project timeline, completing assigned tasks and identifying creative solutions to risks and issues.
  • Complete timely review and validations of prepared master data to ensure adherence to data model and standards.
  • Play a key role in analyzing and preparing Local and Statutory Account load files.
  • Provide training, as needed, to support business resources in their reviews and validations of finance master data, including data standards, classifications and mappings.
  • Coordinate with business resources to proactively retire inactive data.
  • Support Finance Data Stewards in data cleansing efforts.
  • Capture learnings and develop plans to continuously improve processes, governance and data quality.




Data Deployment phases: 

Execute the FDC cutover data migration activities and support error resolution

  • Represent FDC in final cutover execution, completing assigned tasks, communicating delays and collaborating to resolve issues.
  • Review and validate the final load files for completeness and adherence to data model and standards.  
  • Prepare and provide final Local and Statutory load files.
  • Support cutover team and COE in prioritizing and coordinating error resolution during initial technical go-live cycles.

Key Experiences

  • Finance Accounting and Operational Data Knowledge (Must Have): Understanding of the current use and business applications of Finance Master Data in the different business processes.  Not expected to know all for all markets, but a good basis of knowledge in at least one market.


  • SAP MDG/ERP Master Data Technical Knowledge (Must Have): Some knowledge of how finance master data is setup and how the master data is maintained and consumed across the system.  However, not expected to be an IT resource.


  • Global or Regional Experience (Preferred): Experienced in the global environment with the organizational agility to work with multiple markets and stakeholders.
  • Project Experience (Preferred): Experienced in working in a fluid project environment, working with 3rd party resources and deployment of new solutions/processes.

Desired Education

Bachelor Degree, focus in Accounting/Finance, Data Analysis, Computer Science, Information Systems
