Position Title: Innovation Acceleration Mktg Manager 

Division: Petcare Marketing
Location: Tokyo 

Reports to: Marketing Director
 

 

1. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is in charge of leading strategic innovation platforms for driving all Dog, Cat, Pet Specialty portfolio growths.

The position develops and delivers key projects which are highly complex yet critical innovation for multiple Petcare portfolio inc. Kibble + Inclusion, Hyper Premium Treats, and local manufacturing functional treats like Pill Pockets. The projects are co-lead with local co-manufacturer under strategic partnership. 

The position manages partial portfolio P&L/brand responsibility e.g. Pet Specialty Care & Treats, which strongly link to the innovation projects. 

Needs minimum 5 years’ experience in FMCG Marketing or equivalent experience with strong achievement record.  Experience in collaborating with cross-functional members. Needs strong communication skill in both Japanese and English.

 

2. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
 Create cross-portfolio breakthrough innovation platform that rooted in deep understanding of the category and the local consumer insight; build alignment with the Global strategy and key stakeholders.
 Co-develop and co-deliver the winning innovation with local R&D leader for the strategic brands under the portfolio that create business building solutions by working closely with the Marketing Director/Portfolio Managers.

 Manage P&L for C&T for Pet Specialty portfolio, where direct link to the innovation projects.(12/2 Add)

 Develop collaborative relationship with multi-functional team, portfolio marketing team, and co-manufacture development team.
 Co-lead and co-create Marketing team’s engagement with other Marketing Managers and Marketing Director, as positive influence agent. 
 Co-lead and Co-create Local & Regional cross functional WoW (Ways Of Working).
 Support to coach local Marketing non-managers for leadership capability building.

 

3. DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY
 Agree with Marketing Director /Management Team/ Global & Regional stakeholders on the innovation strategy and activation plan for each portfolio.
 Input and recommend total innovation strategy and plan to the Marketing Director.
 Decide with cross functional team on best execution of innovation and activation..
 Input category learning and the best practices to Local / Regional / Global communities.

To co-lead team’s efficient WoW and building collaborative relationship to effectively implement the aligned plan. 

Petcare Peer Marketing Managers / Marketing Director  As necessary base  To discuss and input to total Category’s business strategy, Marketing Team talent development and Engagement
Local LT / regional LT As necessary base  To discuss & align innovation strategy and project approval 
Regional and Global Marketing communities / Stakeholders As necessary base To align, provide input on brand strategy, innovation and activation.
