Job title    Senior HR Generalist

As a Senior HR Generalist you are the P&O contact on site for both line managers, associates and the local leadership team for complex questions and support. You are in the role collaborating with the leadership team on site as well as your colleagues in both NL and BE to drive our agenda in the unit. Your responsibilities include deploying the strategic agenda for the region together with your counterpart in the Brussels sales office for Belgium, managing the social climate, supporting the local leadership team and regional business partner on implementing organizational change as well as driving specific projects such as policy and process simplification or harmonization in Belgium. In this you are collaborating closely with your counterpart in our Brussels office. Next to this you are a point of escalation for associate related issues that go beyond standard processing which is executed by our shared services centre in Warsaw. The ability to handle inquiries, mitigate risk and minimize adverse impact to the organization through application of policies, practices and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements is an absolute must. In this role you will be the Chair of the Olen works council and main spokesperson for internal and in case required external unions. You also will be responsible for ensuring a collaborative and good relationship with the works council as such and ensuring that this lines up to our strategic agenda.

 

What are we looking for?  
•    7 or more years of experience in working in an HR generalist or similar type role 
•    Someone with strong communication, written and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work and communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals across all levels of the organization
•    Someone with experience in the Belgium social climate as well as in working with unions 
•    Someone that is able to provide support, council and spar with (senior)managers and leadership team members in Belgium.
•    Someone that has a high interest in the Belgium legal context, our policies, performance management and organisational change

 

What would be your key responsibilities?
•    Partner with and coach line managers on performance management and support hem in managing their associates in a motivating and engaging way
•    Manage workplace concerns, disciplinary actions and investigations in an impartial and balanced way in line with the associate concept and the five principles
•    Make recommendations and execute projects around improving policies, practices and procedures within Belgium
•    Implement strategic initiatives on the regional agenda in Belgium
•    Deliver capability building programs focussed on performance management, associate cases and internal processes to site leaders and line managers
•    Responsible for maintaining a positive and constructive relationship with the Olen works council
•    Act as the point of contact with unions in regard to complex organisational issues
•    Participate in regional projects that deliver efficiencies for the team or the region
