Shift/Hours: 12 Hour Day Shift 6 AM- 6:30 PM 


Position Summary:

The Receiving Technician is responsible for the receiving, proper storage, documenting, cycle counting of all raw and packaging materials received from suppliers for the intent of conversion to finished goods, while enabling a smooth and consistent operation.  The role ensures the distribution of supplies as needed to meet and/or exceed internal and external customer requirements.  Reporting to Receiving Lead and may directly work with Production Scheduler, Inventory Coordinator and Shift Managers on the day to day operation strategies.  


Essential Functions:

  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision and positive attitude.
  • Leads the workflow for inbound and outbound shipments of supplies
  • Follows all site Quality & Food Safety and Safety protocol.
  • Ensure that site has all necessary packaging and raw ingredients to run.
  • Communicate to Receiving Lead and Logistics Manager with timely information about shipping/receiving issues and updates
  • Work with Shift Manager/Supervisor to distribute Shift Team resources based on workload and absenteeism to ensure the completion of planned and unplanned work.
  • Complete all receiving documentation and troubleshoot invoicing, packing slips, and receiver report issues as required.
  • Monitors the movement of material from Receiving to the Warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.
  • Coordinate and perform cycle count activities.
  • Complete all QFS, Safety Trainings, BBS, and near misses properly and on time.
  • Participate with the Shift Supervisor to implement improvement strategies to increase efficiencies. 
  • Active participation in the Safety program as it applies to production area to include area audits and conformance to all area LOTO and safety procedures.
  • Demonstrate a food safety quality culture in actions, words and spirit.
  • Perform other duties assigned.


Education, experience, and skills Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Inventory control and or materials management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of shipping, receiving, warehouse, and material handling operations, methods and practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Safety, Quality and Material Management Systems and procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial plant systems, equipment and operations
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong Attention to Detail
  • Certified in forklift operation  
  • Able to perform well in a team environment and work alone.


  • Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions such as heat, cold, high, and/or confined spaces and have full mobility to climb stairs and ladder
