Continuous Improvement Technician

 

The Continuous Improvement Tech is a critical member of the FMOS / MSE / TPM implementation. The Continuous Improvement Tech is expected to develop the operating teams’ technical understanding and mastery of process control and is the Centerline DMS owner for the organization. Process Leads are an integral part of the Connection Point meetings and owns integrity of Stops Data Tracking Systems and leads process definition to identify Centerline targets and document standards. They also develop control strategies to enable operators to respond to out of control situations,  analyzes line data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities, leads root cause problem solving efforts on key chronic losses for their area of responsibility, and coaches teams on Centerline DMS execution and problem solving skills. Continuous Improvement Techs must effectively facilitate team meetings; communicate issues within an area, across shifts.  The Continuous Improvement Tech should be considered a SME around CIL and CL's in the assigned area. Process Lead is responsible for leading an AWT which leads to loss elimination.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

•     Actively participates in daily FMOS meetings. Provides performance data for selected machines and communicates action plans and completed work effectively.
•     Viewed as MSE/TPM/CIL/CL expert of related equipment and is willing to discuss, coach, and train on this equipment.
•     Owns identifying and managing DiB project pipeline.  Tracking & reporting to Finance/FI Pillar.
•     Makes logical decisions based on quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
•     Understands overall business operations and helps others to do the same.
•     Facilitates the Line Loss Analysis (Current and Future State).
•     Owns the Centerline and Changeover Daily Management Systems for the line organization.
•     Leads process definition to identify Centerline targets and document standards.
•     Develops control strategies to enable operators to respond to out of control situations.
•     Owns integrity of Stops Data Tracking Systems.
•     Analyzes line data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities.
•     Leads root cause problem solving efforts on key chronic losses for the line/department.
•     Works with Line Leader and team to ensure that all Line and Departmental metrics are achieved.
•     Communicate effectively within the team, between shifts, departments and management (safety, quality, logistics, etc.) to address issues.
•    Continuous Improvement Tech supports Autonomous Maintenance Work Team.
•    Leads MSE/TPM/Process improvement teams as assigned.
•     Any other additional responsibilities as assigned.

 

DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY, RECOMMENDATIONS AND IMPACT

 

•    Owns the Centerline DMS for the line
•    Leads process definition to identify Centerline targets and document standards
•    Develops control strategies to enable operators to respond to out of control   situations
•     Owns integrity of Line Event Data Systems (LEDS)
•     Analyzes line data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities
•     Leads root cause problem solving efforts on key chronic losses for the line/dept
•     Coaches teams on Centerline DMS execution and problem solving skills
•     Owns changeover DMS
•     Recommends machine improvements to improve line efficiencies

 

 

Qualifications 

 

Education/Training

Minimum:  Two Year associate or Equivalent work experience

Preferred:  Two Year associate or Technical Degree

 

Related Experience/Requirements:

Minimum: 3-5 years of experience within a TPM/Technical Environment.

Preferred: SAP, Microsoft Tools: Word, Excel, PPT

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

Minimum: Demonstrated experience in leading change and situational leadership.
Clear ability to relate to and motivate people and effectively train.
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Competencies:  Conflict Management, Drive for Results, Developing Direct Reports & Others, and Decision Quality
Proficient in MS Office and SAP.

 

Physical Requirements:

Frequent lifting / carrying (10-50 lbs.)
Frequent pushing / pulling *(50-100 lbs) and frequent bending and stooping.
Frequent handling / gripping (parts, tools, etc.)
