Job Overview: 

This role will support the M&M’s Retail Supplier Quality Assurance program by executing factory audits and assessments in China against Mars Premia Validation and Approval standards.  Additionally, the role is responsible for evaluating, approving & ensuring new External Manufacturers (co-packers) meet Mars Quality standards.


The primary focus of this position includes auditing high risk factories that produce non-food merchandise and co-packers handling food packaging and food using pre-set metrics and questions.


Key Reponsibilities:

This role will assess a supplier’s general capability to meet Mars standards of supply, validate a supplier’s capabilities, investigate & resolve non-conformances, develop the suppliers’ capabilities, and align the supplier with the mars QMP.  The role involves auditing, problem-solving, training and ensuring corrective actions are properly implemented requiring strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills to support business objectives.



  • 3-5+ year experience in quality or auditing roles
  • 2+ year experience with consumer product testing standards (US, EU, and China requirements)
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes (plastics, ceramics, textiles, metals, paper, etc).
  • Understanding of co-packaging processes (GMP’s, quality control of candy, HACCP, food safety)
  • Ability to read and edit technical drawings and documents in English
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Superior inter-personal skills
  • Capacity to build relationships internally & externally
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. Strong questioning and probing skills to discover issues and to verify the accuracy of information, results and data
  • Ability to adapt and manage effectively in a changing environment
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple initiatives and timelines
  • Ability to act as a bridge for business and technical requirements
