The Role: 

The role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for the efficient supply of quality materials that are fit for purpose and in the required quantities necessary to support production. This role will ensure MQM standards are met, optimal material delivery schedules are produced, inbound material meets Mars specification, and continuous improvement of the Mars supply chain.  The Inbound Scheduler must have the skill set to train and/or perform the tasks of other associates in the area as needed. This job requires strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, team building and conflict management skills to support supply chain objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs all assigned activities and job tasks within a line or area
  • Work directly with Suppliers and Carriers to schedule delivery appointments
  • Batch Sheet and Certificate of Analysis (CoA) - Verify test results are within ingredient specification.
  • Complete RCA’s and implement corrective actions
  • Collect samples for materials analysis as determined by site Q&FS or QA Manual.
  • Maintain accurate records of QC checks
  • Inspect raws/packaging ingredients/materials upon receipt for evidence of foreign material, spoilage and/or damage.
  • Demonstrates high degree of ownership for product quality:  Performs all standard quality checks & other quality related duties
  • Understands production schedules, production computer systems, work instructions, production inventories and MRP.
  • Complete SAP and Red Prairie receipts as necessary
  • Manage and release quality holds within WMS (Red Prairie)
  • Manage vendor returns as needed.
  • Facilitate the isolation of ingredients held for food safety reasons
  • Ability to manage without authority – 3PL associates and carriers
  • Be a good manager of time and priorities
  • Work without direct supervision at times
  • Perform NIR testing and maintain database
  • Primarily responsible for raws/packs however must be proficient in frozen materials
  • Mars POC for contractors at this location









Physical/Environmental Requirements:

  • Standing and walking on a concrete
  • Wearing proper personal protective equipment (safety shoes, freezer coat/gloves and uniform)
  • Bending, stooping, twisting, turning, standing or sitting for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust dirt and chemicals


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a High school diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language
  • Demonstrated competency in computer and pc software including MS Office with a strong emphasis on MS Excel and Outlook email
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of manufacturing or warehousing experience
  • 2 years of work experience within a technical and/or trade discipline
  • Experience working with vendors and carriers
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP and WMS systems such as Red Prairie
