We are seeking an R&D Process Development Engineer (aka Engineer Process) for our Mars Wrigley segment at our Wrigley Engineering Technology Center in Chicago. 


Our Process Engineers are responsible for the development, design, implementation, and validation of new manufacturing processes and equipment for Mars Wrigley (MW) business globally.  This position is an important role to deliver our innovation pipeline across multiple technologies and product platforms across the MW portfolio. This position is expected to execute process development activities related to new product and technology development projects as the lead process engineer part of a work team.


What would your key responsibilities be?

  • Execute projects with passion, intellectual curiosity, integrity, creativity, critical thinking, and trust. 
  • Self-starter with assertive project ownership qualities.
  • Ability to make connections, using literature and patent reviews, to the new technology being developed and provide the team with the fundamental understanding of the process.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and present the results and conclusions.  Generate a technical report of their findings.  Assist in the translation of technology ideas into visual, physical models, working prototypes, and end-to-end business solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative cross-functional team.
  • Ability to make sound judgment and decision.
  • Have the capability to understand their given technology with future expertise to quickly learn new technologies.


What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Food, Chemical or Mechanical) or technical field of study required.
  • Microsoft Office or similar.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%-50% of the time.
  • Project Management skills preferred.
  • Five (5) plus years of relevant Food or CPG industry experience preferred.
  • Experience working in manufacturing factories, labs, or pilot plants preferred.
