Job Purpose/Overview

This role is responsible for driving initiatives that help develop new capabilities and lead cost transformation projects within Supply Chain. In addition, he/she will also be accountable for Atlas and other system enhancements to drive productivity.

 

Key Responsibilities

New Capability Development and Change Management

-             Lead automation and digital initiatives to enable a responsive and efficient Supply Chain

  • Identify areas of opportunities in enhancing existing systems and processes and lead exploratory search for suitable solutions – understand industry best practices; identify suitable tools and system; find solution providers; implement and establish the solution
  • Keep abreast with new technology developments in the industry and bring forth solutions to leverage

-             Be the Supply Chain single-point-of-contact for global/regional/local level transformation initiatives such as

  • Polaris/Mega projects
  • Veritas and other traceability projects
  • SAP enhancements
  • CMOS

-             Lead pilot studies on tactical and strategic initiatives related to distribution network, Co-packing/VAS operations, Warehousing, Transportation, Importation and Customer Service that could transpire into bigger roll-outs

-             Drive initiatives to reduce supply chain complexity and simplify operations through regular SKU rationalisation exercises, RTM consolidation studies, vendor consolidation, process optimization, etc.

-             Data crunching and analysis to identify root causes impacting Supply Chain KPIs such as Service Levels, Inventory, Costs, etc. and propose continuous improvement plans through process redesign and innovation

-             Identify capable partners (3PL) in areas of concern that are critical and lead the change

-             Champion change management for processes across SC function through appropriate training and governance

-             Lead initiatives that require establishing new sourcing sites or distribution channels/network

 

COGS Transformation Initiatives

-             Champion the COGS Transformation agenda for Supply Chain

-             Accountable to drive and deliver on big transformation projects on Cost Savings – such as

  • Network optimization
  • VAS/ Co-Packing productivity
  • Inventory Optimization

-             Project Management for all Cost Savings projects within the Supply Chain function

-             Creating and Maintaining dashboards for lead/lag indicators of logistics cost elements including Non-Quality Cost

-             Regional/Global reporting on Supply Chain Cost Savings

-             Lead benchmarking for Supply Chain/Logistics costs that could help develop insights to identify areas of opportunity

-             Support in logistics cost budgeting exercise and cost provisioning

-             Logistics cost analysis at a periodic level and calling out timely risks/opportunities

 

SAP Troubleshooting, System Enhancements & Maintenance

-             Manage SAP trouble-shooting related escalations

-             Lead SAP system enhancements for accommodating change requests and improving operational efficiency

-             Responsible for maintenance and regular enhancement of common Supply Chain/Logistics systems such as Veritas, WMS systems, LCC Cost tracking portal, SMI tool, etc.

-             Maintain and manage GS1 portal for MARS India pet care and data-kart database

 

Context and Scope

  • This role is that of driving change through initiatives and innovation. It requires working closely with team members to understand their pain points and find solutions to the same.
  • Internal – Extended Supply Chain team, Regional Supply Chain team, MGS Commercial, S&F
  • External – Consultants, Solution providers, 3rd Party Logistics Operators

 

Education & Professional Qualifications             

  • Post Graduate- MBA in Supply Chain/Operations

Knowledge / Experience            

  • 4  to 5  years of relevant Supply Chain functional experience
  • Experience in leading change initiatives
