The Project Leader is accountable for overall Project delivery of the New Greenfield plant in China.

  • This role would lead the Project Control Group (PCG) and play a very critical overall leadership of the cross functional project execution team and responsible for E2E Project Integration from total supply and business perspective.
  • The Project leader and his/her team will create all conditions necessary for the green field site to Build and Operate when the physical construction is finished by Engineering. These conditions include recruiting, training of all manufacturing personnel, planning and executing the CVS, engage and align the stakeholders (internal and external), align portfolio with the market and the subsequent Raw & Pack specifications and logistics. This all in partnership with the Project Engineering Team.
  • The role is also accountable for creating robust transition plans from current HPT factory and overall talent leadership within the supply during the project execution.



  • Responsible for the Project Integration from total supply and business perspective by:
  • Project Management – Cost, Quality, Safety, Project delivery on time, Vertical Start-up,       
  • Associate Engagement.
  • Stakeholder Management and Communication both Internal and External
  • Integrating all Mars Global Best practices and Project Learnings into China project.
  • Integrate Mars Global MSE thinking into various stages of the Project
  • Embed the TPM culture of 0/1/100 into Greenfield start-up.
  • Develop and Support Project execution strategy in partnership with Engineering.
  • Manage and support the Manufacturing Recruitment (production labor and manufacturing overhead)
  • Manage and support the Manufacturing Capability training. Transfer equipment knowledge and operation through Factory directed training or personal hands on training.
  • Responsible for the Project Resource planning
  • Manage and support the creation Standard Operating Procedures to maximize operational effectiveness including job descriptions for new positions
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities throughout the site and implement lean solutions to reduce waste, improve yield, increase TRS, and maximize productivity, labor and equipment utilization.
  • Manage and support the creation and implementation of the Manufacturing Process Lay-out
  • Managing the site Set-Up included all services and supports for housekeeping, security, kitchen, laundry.
  • Responsible for the successful Commissioning, Validation and Start-up of the Greenfield factory.
  • Responsible for deploying Global Vertical start-up(DFVS), CVS Frame work
  • Manage the CVS activities including coordination of resources, collaboration with engineering group, leading cross-functional decision-making teams concerning project activities, developing the CVS plan, creating standard operating procedures and maximizing the operational effectiveness of start-up.
  • Manage the development and execution of the CVS plans through the CVS teams including checklists, timelines and include Global Best Practices for Quality & Food Safety.
  • Manage, coach, support and direct the CVS and Engineering teams.
  • Responsible for Local Liasoning with local Authorities, Unions, Professional work groups in the Industrial state.
  • Manage the Permits Interface to assure that the factory is legally compliant to produce.
  • Responsible for Communication and engagement with Market.



  • University degree in Engineering with over 15 years of working experience.
  • Significant Mars Supply experience in Engineering at a Site Level
  • Significant Mars business understanding and Business Acumen.
  • Proven strength in delivering large capital projects in China with Greenfield execution experience.
  • Significant People leadership skills
  • Proven strength in delivering results and/or driving change through leading multi-functional teams
  • Ability to travel overseas as required
