Job Purpose

As Scientific Communication Advisor you are responsible for the execution of our scientific communications strategy and for the scientific and technical support of our local marketing & sales teams and consumer care. Your knowledge will be the backbone to our vision to be the reference in health through nutrition for cats and dogs. To enable this you will also liaise with key opinion leaders in science and the veterinary world.

You will be part of the Corporate Affairs department working in a highly motivated team covering the Benelux. Your base location will be our office in Brussels (Sint-Stevens-Woluwe).

You will report into the Corporate Affairs Director, as part of the local Corporate Affairs Team in the Benelux.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy our local scientific communication strategy, in line with the business strategy of Royal Canin Benelux.
  • Connect the reputation of the brand Royal Canin with our focus on health through nutrition, science, and quality and food safety.   
  • Sharing scientific knowledge both internally and externally, both in speech and in writing.
  • Prepare and review scientific articles for marketing & sales and the digital department.
  • Support consumer care with complicated cases.
  • Stay up-to-date in the world of science in pets and petfood. Also, translating this science towards internal and external stakeholders.
  • Focus on internal and external communication and co-creating a PR-strategy.



1. Education & Professional Qualification

You hold a Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine or Food science. Preferably also with specialisation in communication.

2. Knowledge/Experience

  • At least one year experience in a similar position.
  • Dutch/Flemish, French and English is a must have.
  • Functional/Technical Skills.
  • Excellent PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • High passion for pets.
