Mars Wrigley Confectionery is looking for a Category Merchandise & Planning Manager to work in Mt. Arlington, NJ.
This vital role within the Mars Retail Organization is responsible for the development and execution of category sales strategy that supports the company’s financial, product, inventory and marketing objectives. This individual will own the category & department framework to drive top line financials. This individual is a critical leader within the Mars Retail Group and will be a significant contributor in the company’s success. 
Principal Accountabilities
•    Lead the category seasonal buy process and pre-season planning. Ensure that the buy supports the financial budget.
•    Manage monthly Category OTB process. Adjust top line financial numbers as needed. 
•    Own SKU counts, order quantities and to define and drive purchasing decisions for all new products 
•    Analyze actual product performance and recommend next actions surrounding replenishment, markdowns, and length of product life. 
•    Strategically manage the in-season business in order to maximize sales, margin realization, and inventory & manage weekly business reviews 
•    Capitalize on new opportunities and identify risks based on historical data and industry trends 
•    Daily/weekly/monthly reporting as well as seasonal recaps. 
•    Generate recommended replenishment quantities based on historical selling, seasonal trends, category level merchandising strategies and inventory objectives. 
•    Create and communicate receipt goals that support in-stock and turn objectives. 
•    Lead the development and continuous evolution of retail processes related to assortment planning, pricing, promotions, and category planning. 
•    Independently develop new reporting methodologies to analyze the business 
 
Key Functional Skills/Knowledge 
•    Knowledge of overall supply chain/logistics best practices; includes international and domestic logistic movement experience
•    Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision
•    Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel)
•    Experience with SAP and Warehouse Management Systems and Asset
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all aspects of the business
Qualifications 
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or other relevant discipline is required.
•    Experience in Omni-Channel Retail Planning, logistics, finance or operations preferred.
•    Five years in Merchandise Financial Planning 
•    ERP/SAP is preferred.
